New and Improved MVNA Website Launch

It's taken some doing but we're pleased to welcome you to the revamped and improved MVNA website. Please explore!

We have added a Discussion Board for members of the community to express their views on various local issues and subjects.  So whether you are new to internet Discussion Boards or not, please take a moment to register and comment because it is a great tool for creating stronger community in Mar Vista.

We've also added an easy-to-update Calendar, a page on Problem Solving and we have expanded the Mar Vista Clubs & Groups section to facilitate an online hub for the MVNA clubs.

I'd like to thank Stewart of Pringle Design Services for all his hard work in getting this site designed and launched.

Our webmaster is Tara Mulski and your comments about the website are welcomed at: webmaster@mvna.net

Rosendahl wins full review of DWP Project

ROSENDAHL WINS FULL REVIEW OF CONTROVERSIAL POWER LINE PROJECT
DWP Pledges to Conduct EIR for Scattergood-Olympic Power Cable Project

LOS ANGELES – At the urging of City Councilmember Bill Rosendahl, the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (DWP) has agreed to a community request to conduct a full and thorough environmental review for its proposed Scattergood-Olympic underground power line project.

Rosendahl announced today that David Freeman, general manager of DWP, agreed today that his department would complete a full Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the utility project, which had drawn the outspoken concern of residents from West LA, Mar Vista, Del Rey, Playa Vista, Westchester and Playa del Rey.

“This is fantastic news,” Rosendahl said. “I am grateful that DWP is listening to the concerns of my constituents, who also happen to be its shareholders.”

Local residents voiced concerns in recent weeks that DWP was rushing a project without sufficient concern for the impact on local residents, and without sufficient study of the potential impact of electromagnetic fields generated by the power lines.
