Mission and History
The Mar Vista Neighborhood Association was founded in 2000 to promote community spirit; improve quality of life; secure public improvements; and keep our community informed.
We publish a quarterly newsletter, Mar Vista View, which is distributed free to over 1100 households. We also put out a monthly e-newsletter and maintain this website. Each summer, we throw a giant potluck block party and each January, hold an annual town hall meeting so neighbors can meet and speak with people in power. We also take a leading role in addressing local issues and occassionally donate to groups that support our mission.
Membership is limited to anyone living within our borders. We ask each household to pay yearly dues of $20 (click here to pay)
We are not the MVCC (Mar Vista Community Council) which is a city sponsored neighborhood council and covers a much larger area (including ours).
Welcome to our website. Please explore, learn about Mar Vista and join the ongoing conversations on our Discussion Board.
